Art Does Not Stop: “RINGLIKE 2.0” Finally Debuts in Catania After Forced Postponement

Cancelled in January due to a weather alert for Cyclone Harry, the MUSIC4D event has been rescheduled for Tuesday, February 24th. It will be the world premiere of the immersive performance at ZO Centro di Culture Contemporanee.

CATANIA [February 19, 2026] – The wait is over. “RINGLIKE 2.0” is finally set to debut. After a forced stop in January, caused by the passage of Cyclone Harry, the world premiere of the show promoted within the MUSIC4D project will take place on Tuesday, February 24th, at 9:00 PM, at ZO Centro di Culture Contemporanee.

The innovative event, which has never been publicly performed, thus takes on an even more special significance. It will be a precious opportunity for the Catania audience to immerse themselves in this unique show where photographs of Sicily come to life.

Born from the collaboration between the Vincenzo Bellini Conservatory of Catania and the Associazione Musicale Etnea (AME), the show is a hybrid format that blends cinema, concert, and performance. The photographs of director Marco Schillaci will be transformed into “tableau vivant” using sophisticated AI software, creating a hypnotic and continuously moving visual tapestry. Woven into this digital canvas will be the original music of composer Paolo Sorge and the texts of poet Biagio Guerrera, in a three-way dialogue that unites the solitary soul of the photograph with the collective energy of live music.

Performing the score will be a high-level ensemble led by Paolo Sorge himself on guitar and Biagio Guerrera as the reciting voice. They will be joined by professors, young talents, and internationally renowned soloists, in a perfect balance between rigorous composition and free jazz improvisation.

This premiere, part of MUSIC4D—the PNRR project led by the Alessandro Scarlatti Conservatory of Palermo to revolutionize higher music education—confirms the tenacity in bringing original works to completion and sharing culture with the city. After its Etna debut, the show will begin its international journey, heading to Spain for a double performance scheduled at the end of the month in Castellon de la Plana and Murcia.
