“RINGLIKE 2.0” is being performed in Catania: Sicily as told through Jazz, Poetry, and Artificial Intelligence

CATANIA – An immersive journey where photographs of Sicily come to life, in an unprecedented dialogue between jazz music, poetry, and Artificial Intelligence. It’s “RINGLIKE 2.0”, the new show of the MUSIC4D project, scheduled in Catania on January 19th and 20th, starting at 9:00 pm.

The event is part of MUSIC4D, the PNRR project led by Conservatory “A. Scarlatti” of Palermo, in synergy with a broad network of partners. MUSIC4D blends tradition with cutting-edge tools like AI and VR to revolutionize teaching, going beyond performance. The initiative aims factually to generate original productions, soft skills and solid international opportunities. On an increasingly interconnected stage, this new stage also shares the same vision and looks to the artists of tomorrow.

Born from the collaboration with the Etnea Musical Association (AME), the show will transform shots by director Marco Schillaci into “tableau vivants” thanks to AI software (such as Adobe Firefly and Stable Diffusion). It’s not cinema, it’s not concert, but a hybrid format that blends these three arts into a single emotional flow; an experience that combines the solitary soul of photography with the collective energy of live music. Against this backdrop, an ensemble led by composer Paolo Sorge and writer and narrator Biagio Guerrera will perform, balancing writing and improvisation.

“RINGLIKE 2.0” will be performed in two symbolic places of Catania culture: Monday 19 January at the Casa della Musica (a property seized from the mafia and returned to the community) and Tuesday 20 January at ZO Centro di Culture Contemporanee. After the Etna dates, the show will arrive in Spain with a double performance scheduled for the end of February in Castellon de la Plana and Murcia.
