Thursday, August 28, at 7:00 p.m., the Auditorium of the Conservatorio Superior de Música “Manuel de Falla” (Gallo 238) will host the major symphonic concert “Musiche dei Porti”, a central stage of MUSIC4D’s international mission. An event that represents a true embrace between two continents, where the traditions of the Mediterranean meet the sounds of South America, projected into a digital and innovative horizon.

Under the direction of Maestro Carlo Magni, the orchestra of the prestigious Argentine Conservatory will join Italian guest musicians in a program alternating between ancient folk melodies and new compositions. The original arrangements bear the signature of Giuseppe Vasapolli, who has intertwined Sicilian roots with contemporary languages, while the music of Francesco Martorana will offer new sound textures able to merge identity and experimentation. The powerful voice of Alba Cavallaro, winner of the 2024 “Rosa Balistreri” Prize, will provide the emotional thread binding together different eras and cultures.

At the heart of the project, coordinated by Fabio Crescente with the scientific support of MUSIC4D, lies the belief that music is a plural language, capable of creating cultural bridges and new creative communities. “Musiche dei Porti” is not just a concert: it is evidence of how the memory of popular sounds, from the ethnomusicological collections of Alberto Favara to the influences of tango, can be reborn through digital technologies, opening up unprecedented immersive experiences.

This initiative marks a new chapter for MUSIC4D, a European project that experiments with the integration of tradition, artificial intelligence, and the performing arts. In Buenos Aires, a city of ports and migrations, the concert takes on the value of a laboratory of cultural diplomacy: a place where music, innovation, and identity intertwine, offering the public the image of a living and universal Mediterranean.
