Mariano Meloni is the Director of the “Luigi Canepa” Conservatory in Sassari. He holds a degree in Music, Arts and Performing Disciplines and has always nurtured a deep passion for concert performance. A professor of piano, he has performed over 700 concerts as a pianist, harpsichordist, and organist, both as a soloist and in various chamber and choral ensembles.
An award-winning musician in national and international competitions, he has performed in countries including Austria, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Malta, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Argentina, Kazakhstan, Mexico, and South Africa. Meloni firmly believes that Sardinian musical traditions should not remain confined to museums, but instead engage in a vibrant dialogue with the world - embracing contemporary music and digital innovation. He encourages his students to look beyond the borders of their island while inviting the world to discover Sardinia as a unique soundscape and cultural hub.
