Professor Francesco Pupo teaches Intelligent Systems for Robotics and Real Time and Distributed Programming for the Master's Degree in Robotics and Automation Engineering at the University of Calabria. His research interests include: Generative Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Intelligent Agents, Real-Time Systems, Formal Modeling and Simulation, Petri Nets, Intelligent Transportation Systems, Internet of Vehicles and Cyber-Physical Systems. He has been involved in several international research projects and is currently the Scientific Director of the Music4D Project. The most innovative objective of Music4D is the integration of emotional intelligence and the creation of a Cyber Symbiotic Orchestra, which allows a robotic conductor to understand the intention and mood of the musicians. The technological framework is based on Emotional Human-Robot Teaming, while multimodal communication includes the use of Large Language Models (LLM) and Natural Language Processing (NLP), Gesture Recognition (of the conductor and the musicians), and advanced visual interfaces for the exchange of non-verbal information.
