Was born in Genoa and received his musical training in Sassari, before further refining his piano studies in Genoa under the guidance of Martha Del Vecchio. A multifaceted musician, he balances a distinguished solo career with extensive activity in both chamber music and orchestral conducting. As a pianist, he has earned accolades in prestigious international competitions and has performed across four continents, with concert engagements in Brazil, Argentina, Canada, China, South Africa, Australia, and throughout much of Europe. His television collaborations with the world-renowned soprano Renata Scotto are of particular note.
As a conductor, he specializes in contemporary repertoire, a focus he developed through years of study under Sandro Gorli. Leading both national and international ensembles, he has interpreted the most significant works of the 20th and 21st centuries. A landmark highlight was his 2014 performance of Peter Maxwell Davies’s Eight Songs for a Mad King at the Amiata Piano Festival, which was broadcast on Rai Radio 3 in the presence of the composer. Since 2019, Ivaldi has been exploring the frontiers of piano and electronics, collaborating with Milan’s Centro Agon and appearing at major festivals such as PianoCity and spazioMUSICA. He is the founder and director of the Contemporary Music Ensemble of the Sassari Conservatory and, since November 2025, has served as the Director of the Luigi Canepa Conservatory.
